A Fort Canning Hill Trail

Fridays 9.30 am - 12.00 nn
Seven centuries ago, a young prince arrived on an island known as Temasek. Claiming the hill by the river for his palace, he ruled over the isle and renamed it 'Singapura'. The hill came to be known as 'Forbidden Hill', where no common man may tread. We tread today on forbidden ground to discover the remains of an old fortress and the story of adventuring pioneers. Nowhere in Singapore will you walk on ground where once a palace stood, smell the jackfruit once savoured by kings and explore a mysterious 14th century tomb. Miss this one and you miss what the fuss was all about seven centuries ago.
