Q1). What are The Original Singapore Walks®?
The Original Singapore Walks® runs almost everyday(except Sundays and public holidays), rain or shine, to take you into Singapore's most colourful heritage sites, such as Little India, Chinatown, Kampong Glam and our Colonial District. By foot, we will explore the many nooks and crannies that run abound in these lovely corners of Singapore and foray behind the scenes to see, hear, touch and feel things that you won't on most other tours.
Q2). And the Changi Museum War Trails™?
Changi Museum War Trails™ are coach trails about the Fall and Occupation of Singapore during WWII and are dedicated to the memory of all who fought and suffered during those dark years. The trails operate on the same principle as The Original Singapore Walks ® – they run as scheduled regardless of rain or shine. No pre-booking is needed to ensure that the tour runs, however, participants are requested to call ahead to reserve their seats as there are limited places.
Q3). Are there other tours apart from the scheduled ones?
Yes, we have a whole gamut of tours available for private bookings. Using our knowledge of local history, military history, the arts, religion and culture, Journeys is able to customise tour packages for Special Interest groups. Q4). The whole of Singapore is down for a Walk. Help!
The tour will still run; no one will be turned away! When such a scenario (which is not entirely undesirable) is expected, there will be more guides assigned to that particular tour. Alternatively, an additional day within the week will be scheduled for the walk. In addition, we also accept bookings, so big groups can have a Walk all to themselves.
Q5). What if I'm the only Walker for the day?
The Walk goes ahead. Enjoy your private tour.
Q6). What do I need to be one happy Walker?
Wear a cap and comfy shoes, bring an umbrella or poncho, and a bottle of water. Mosquito repellent may be helpful on tours that take you to parks! Dress comfortably to take the heat confidently. When all else fail, while away time taking potshots at your guide.
Q7). Is the new pub Walk a pub crawl?
No, The Tipple Exchange™ is not a pub crawl. Rather, be entertained by stories surrounding the historic Singapore River and hear about the who's-who about town, colourful personalities, the juiciest of scandals and a useless trivia or two. Oh, not forgetting the three specialty drinks to wet your whistle on this Walk.
Q8). How much are The Original Singapore Walks®?
Prices start at S$25/Adult and S$15/Child.
Q9). Do I need to book in advance?
No pre-booking is necessary.
Just show up at our designated meeting point to meet our guide and you are ready to roll.
(Meeting points designated are often MRT Stations, which makes it easy for you to get to.)
Q10). Do I get a discount if I go on more Walks/War Trails?
Yes there is with our The Original Singapore Walks® discount card available at only S$1 each. The card is valid for 1 month for tourists and 3 months for residents. Each card entitles you to S$3 off every additional Walk/War Trail.
